A non-traditional surprise wedding day

I got chills when Ryan & Theresa first told me their wedding plans. They wanted to plan something big and fun for them and their guests, so they decided to do a surprise wedding.

They wanted to have their guests think they already eloped at city hall and were hosting a celebration in the desert, but in actuality their guests would be witness to their real wedding. They had a movie screening that was supposed to be a recap of their elopement but was actually just a summary of their love story.

Guests then turned around and saw the bride and groom standing at the altar and getting married. Suprise!

The rest of the night was filled with delicious tacos, speciality cocktails, a dessert table themed around their dog, a surprise saxophonist and fog gun, and late night pizza delivery boys.

I love when couples plan a day that is authentically them and throw out the wedding traditions. And Ryan & Theresa certain did just that.

Threw a SURPRISE wedding for their guests (!!!)
Had their ceremony at night
Showed a movie pre-ceremony that recapped their love story
Had picnic style seating for guests for the ceremony
Didn’t have a wedding party
Had a food truck instead of traditional catering
Had a super fun and flirty first dance
Had a dessert table themed around their dog Indy instead of cake
A surprise saxophonist came out and performed with them, while they shot off a fog gun
They had “late night boyz” delivery In-n-out to their guests
